ABOUT ME

Hi there! I’m Illia, and I’m a UX/UI designer based in NYC.

I come from a mixed background with experience across many fields. I created my own major in college: a combination of visual studies, cultural anthropology, and the history of science. My long-standing fascination with human stories is the basis to my user-centered approach to design, and my ability to synthesize cross-disciplinary ideas informs my approach to ideation. I've also worked as a project manager, where I honed my communication and organizational skills—and learned the importance of efficiency and clarity.

When I’m not designing, I enjoy drawing, reading, and dancing (aerially, because why keep your feet on the ground when you can fly?) I also take on the occasional sewing project and love finding innovative ways to alter old clothing—I always appreciate the creative challenge, even when the end result isn't quite what I expected.

As a curious soul and perpetual learner, I'm always looking for new ideas to try and problems to solve. Got something in mind for me? Drop a note and let’s chat!
